Right of employer to terminate a probationary contract on short notice or without notice.

An employer has the right to terminate a probationary contract without notice or on a short notice. Section 41 of the Employment Act provides that an employer before summarily dismissing an employee, to give such an employee a written notice with reason for his termination and afford him a hearing. However, section 42 which governs probationary contracts provides that such requirements will not be required when terminating an employee on probationary terms.
